Are you handy with a camera? Do you know your Spider-Man from your Superman?

BGCP Comic Con and the Blackheart Market are looking for a freelance photographer to join our touring team for the 2026 season. We host events all across Scotland, from massive takeovers in East Kilbride and Dundee to pop-up markets in Inverness and the Highlands.

We need someone who isn’t just great at framing a shot, but who loves capturing the atmosphere of a busy event.

The Role:

  • Cosplay Photography: You must be confident approaching cosplayers, asking for photos, and giving them direction on how to pose to make their costumes look epic.
  • Candid Moments: Capturing families having fun, kids meeting superheroes, and the buzz of a busy market hall.
  • Trader & Product Shots: Taking high-quality images of our trader stalls (toys, art, crafts) that we can use to promote them on social media.
  • Fast Turnaround: We love getting a “highlight reel” quickly after the event to share while the hype is high.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Outgoing & Confident: You will be the face of the event when asking for photos. You need to be happy directing large groups or shy kids to get the best shot.
  • Willing to Travel: Our tour covers the Central Belt (Glasgow, Livingston, East Kilbride), Fife (Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Dundee), and further North to Inverness and Elgin.
  • Reliable: We have a busy calendar, and we need someone we can count on for scheduled dates.

Payment & Perks:

  • Pay: Negotiable day rate (please state your expected rate in your application).
  • Travel: Expenses for travel to venues outside your local area will be discussed.
  • Access: All-areas access to every event.

How to Apply: Please send an email to ian@bgcp.co.uk with:

  1. A link to your portfolio (Instagram or Website). Please highlight any event or portrait work.
  2. Your location and availability for weekends.
  3. Your expected day rate or hourly rate.
  4. A brief note on why you’d be a good fit for a Comic Con/Horror Market environment.
