About Kirkcaldy Comic Con

BGCP Comic Con returns to the Mercat Shopping Centre for another massive takeover event. Since 2021, Kirkcaldy has been one of our favourite stops on the tour, bringing thousands of fans together right in the heart of Fife.

Unlike a traditional convention where you are stuck in a hall, our “Shopping Centre Takeovers” transform the entire venue into a celebration of pop culture. Whether you are grabbing your weekly shopping or hunting for rare collectibles, you’ll find superheroes, villains, and movie props around every corner.

What to expect:

  • The Market: We pack the centre with independent traders selling comic books, action figures, Pokémon cards, handmade geeky crafts, and original art.
  • Cosplay: We encourage everyone to dress up! You’ll see fans of all ages in costume, from Marvel and Star Wars to anime and gaming characters.
  • Meet & Greets: Look out for our cosplayers and mascots roaming the centre for free photo opportunities throughout the day.
  • Free Entry: There is no admission fee. The event is open to the public during centre hours, making it the perfect affordable family day out in Kirkcaldy.

Venue: The Mercat Shopping Centre

The event takes place throughout the main concourse of the Mercat, ensuring easy accessibility for wheelchairs and prams.

Getting Here:

  • By Train: We are just a 5-minute walk from Kirkcaldy Train Station (follow the signs for the Town Centre/Bus Station).
  • By Bus: The main Kirkcaldy Bus Station is located directly next to the shopping centre, offering direct links from Glenrothes, Dunfermline, and Leven.
  • Parking: The Mercat has its own multi-story car park (Sat Nav: KY1 1NJ) with direct lift access to the event floor.

Want to trade in Kirkcaldy?

Our Fife events are consistently busy due to the high footfall of the shopping centre. If you sell pop culture merchandise, art, or collectibles, this is the perfect venue to reach new customers who might not visit a traditional convention hall.
