Intro

Nobody dies. In the Town of Stillwater, that’s not just a promise. It’s a threat.

Superstar writer Chip Zdarsky and Eisner Award-Winning artist Ramon K Perez keep the terror train rolling in the next instalment of this ongoing horror mystery series. Chaos has come to Stillwater and how will the town regain control?

Writing

While last month’s issue was certainly ‘explosive’, this issue is no less action packed. Zdarsky may not progress the story much but this issue certainly catches the eye for all the right reasons. Plenty of gratuitous violence that Frank Castle would be proud of! And as a result, you can feel the tension rising amongst the townsfolk of Stillwater. But it’s the ending that leaves you wondering what will be revealed next month.

Artwork

The artwork of Perez pairs perfectly with the brutal storytelling of Zdarsky. The detail in his work, paired with Mike Spicer’s vivid colours, only serves to encapsulate the terror. And as a result, it only draws you in further to to the story.

Overall

An ultra violent storyline mixed with some intense and detailed artwork. Zdarsky and Perez keep us on our toes shocking and terrifying in equal measure. Not as story driven as other issues, this is still an enjoyable addition to the series and will leave you looking forward to the next issue.
