Black Adam Given Official Release Date & Poster

Black Adam’s Official Poster

DC’s upcoming Black Adam Movie has been given an official release date. Warner Brother’s and Dwayne Johnson took to social media to announce the film will hit cinemas on July 29, 2022

It has certainly been an exciting week for Black Adam fans. First, leading man Dwayne Johnson revealed a Johnny Cash quote in the script. Then, it was announced that Pierce Brosnan was cast as Doctor Fate. Now, the upcoming film in the DC Universe, which has been in development for the last seven years, has finally been giving a release date.

Johnson and Warner Brother’s helped make the announcement on social media. In a video, shared by Johnson, New York Times Square is taken over by the DC anti-hero. The giant screens all turn black before revealing the characters iconic yellow lightning bolt alongside the movie’s title and release date. Following the actor’s post, an official poster with the release date made its way online. You can check Black Adam’s official poster below.

Interestingly enough, the film is set to debut directly in cinemas and not any streaming platforms. With the current COVID-19 situation, this decision could be subject to change, but fans can hope they can see the film in theatres come July 2022.

The film, which will introduce DC’s antagonist turned anti-hero, has already assembled a stellar cast. With Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Jaume Collett-Serra will direct the film, which aims to kick-off shooting soon. Many of the plot details are still under wraps, but will most likely feature the characters origin story.
