Writer: David Avallone
Our busty beauty and Price were left reeling at the last panel reveal of a monstrous creature from Egypt about to kill Elvira. Quick thinking Vincent tricks the beast and they escape. In the car, Vincent reveals the plot of Rise of the Ram. In the film, help is possessed by the spirit of Amun-Ra but is banished at the end by a quick-witted actress. The film was besieged by bad luck and now Price thinks that the ritual was real. If the servant of Amun-Ra manages to summon him the world will end.
Avallone leans heavily into the puns and slapstick that we all yearn for in an Elvira comic and it works. With great little gags such as the Big Knockers gag and the public health film style update on not drinking anything, you didn’t see poured.
Art By: Juan Samu
I already extolled about Samu’s work on this title in my issue #1 review, but again he is spot on with Cassandra’s expressions, nature and general sexiness. The cheesy plot is made all the cheesier by his hilarious drawing lampooning Price and the whole comic premise.
Overall Thoughts
This is as camp as a Friday the 13th Movie (ahem) but the star of the comic is and always will be Elvira. Her face is a passport to a million emotions and I for one can’t wait for the Avallone Cut
