Synopsis
Have you read our review of issue #1? why the hell not? It’s right here.
Someone murdered Trigger Keaton, the world’s most famous TV action hero. But to be fair, everyone kinda hated him. Now the plot thickens, the sidekick numbers increase, and the STUNTMAN WAR ESCALATES! And no one is ready for the BEST CAR CHASE EVER put to page going down!
Writer: Kyle Starks
After the bonkers first issue, we settle with Starks showing us another one of the Sidekicks shows, this time the show is Sidecar, with ex-cop Carson Gray and the voice of a 10-year-old boy Skippy within the car. I am actually surprised that Disney or Nickelodeon haven’t already made a kids version of Night Rider and it looks as mad but hilarious as it sounds.
Back in the real world, Keaton is being an arsehole again and Tad (Skippy) gets it full on from the egotistical bully. It’s no wonder he’s grown into a nervous wreck that sits at the back of rooms and whose character is more recognisable than him.
The action heats up at the reading of Keaton’s will, with 40 boxes of excrement, a Fuck You Paul letter and Tad the only Sikdkick to get anything (the crappy car from the show)
After the shit hits the fan (or stuntmen) the stuntman war is back on but who knows tad was actually a really amazing stunt driver and he easily gets away. The use of the Rockford turn (as your grandparents), as well as impressive, swerves and dodges makes this the best Car Chase wrote down in July 2021.
I think this team needs some girl power and the next issue looks like it brings that in spades.
Oh, and on a final note, the Reddit thread pages at the end are a tour de force and should be in every issue of every comic.

Schweizer is on point again in this issue with his wacky drawing style and a great two-page update at the end of the issue to explain his fascination with martial arts. The will-reading and the car chase are just two of the high points of the issue with lots of little details while creating fully formed characters from a few panels.
Overall Thoughts
Keaton is really terrible, taking weeks out of his diary to shit in a box and save them up for when he dies is probably the most amoral thing in the world. Whichever sidekick killed him deserves a medal.
