Snake Eyes Drops First Trailer
Paramount Pictures’ Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, drops its first trailer, starring Henry Golding as Snake Eyes and Samara Weaving as Scarlett.
In the first trailer for the G.I. Joe solo film, Snake Eyes is recruited by the 600-year old ninja clan to become a warrior. Between glimpses of Snake Eyes wielding his character’s iconic weapon Morning Light, we see Snake Eyes being invited to train amongst the Arashikage. Although we don’t know Snake Eyes’ backstory at this time, the trailer promises that the action film will be based on learning who the man was before becoming the ninja commando legend. The Snake Eyes trailer closes with Peter Mensah’s character, Blind Master, stating, “The journey from here is yours to decide. But that is just the beginning.”
2021’s Snake Eyes will serve as a reboot to the G.I. Joe film franchise. The upcoming film is written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse and was described as a take on the “Spaghetti Westerns of samurai movies” by its star Golding. The Crazy Rich Asians actor added, “A lot of attention to cultural detail was put into this movie. There are not a lot of movies that are allowed to film in Japan and we went to some amazing, amazing places.”
