CONFIRMED: Captain America 4 is happening
Now that the Captain America mantle has been taken up by Anthony Mackie in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’. It has just been confirmed that Captain America 4 is in the works. The report came from the Hollywood Reporter who confirmed no casting has been announced. However it’s a safe bet that Mackie will headline following this week’s finale to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Show.
What we do know is that series showrunner Malcom Spellman is returning to pen the script with Dalan Musson. Which will likely continue the adventures of Sam Wilson as he embraces his role as the new Star-Spangled Avenger. Given how the finale of ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ shaped up on Disney+, this is not surprising. After all the teases the show’s creators made about a second season, Captain America 4 is the logical next step.
“We’ve definitely kicked around ideas because we always like to keep thinking about where things can go, but we also, frankly, in the crush of the pandemic, we’re just trying to finish the show and make sure it got out in a timely matter,” said Moore. “Hopefully at the end of this season, you will see the potential for what we could tell in a subsequent season.”
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also featured Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes). The show established a budding bromance between Bucky and Sam that has everyone hoping to see more of the pair in Captain America 4.
The series premiered March 19, to what Disney+ said was its biggest series debut ever. Topping popular shows such as Marvel’s WandaVision and Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian.
