Early Shang-Chi Impressions Have Dropped
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings finally got its Hollywood premiere last night and already first impressions have been overwhelmingly positive. Although full-scale reviews for the latest Marvel flick aren’t due to drop for another week, a number of those in attendance at the El Capitan Theatre last night took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
“Shang-Chi is a movie that ended up on a ‘Wouldn’t It Be Great’ list where ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could do this as a movie,’ probably twenty years ago,” Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige previously told Rotten Tomatoes. “It’s a great story of a young man that realizes his father is essentially one of the world’s greatest supervillains and one of the world’s greatest criminals. How do you process that? And how do you deal with that as a child? How do you evolve beyond that?”
“Action like we’ve never seen from the MCU.”
“The perfect balance of fun, heart and action!”
“Still in awe.”
“Get hyped.”
“An amazing blend of East meets West.”
“Marvel has another hit on its hands.”
“Simu Liu makes for an awesome hero.”
Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings star Simu Liu as the title character and is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Cretton also wrote the film’s screenplay along with David Callaham. The film is set to release on the 3rd of September this year.
