Jupiter’s Legacy First Trailer!
New Trailer drops with more plot and cast!
Netflix has dropped the trailer for Jupiter’s Legacy the new eight-part show premiering on May 7th. From the mind of Wanted, Kingsman and Kick-Ass, Mark Millar brings this new generational spanning show following the world’s only family of heroes as they pass their legacy on to a new generation.
In the comics, a group visits a mysterious island in the 1920s and are granted superpowers. The show follows the family of cope with new threats, threats and the burden of power and image in the 21st century. Instead of us spoiling anything watch the trailer and make your own mind up!
“When I started Jupiter’s Legacy in 2012 I had a very simple plan. I just wanted to write the biggest superhero story of all time,” Millar previously told THR.
Welcome to Millarworld!
Jupiter’s Legacy stars Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb, Ben Daniels, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade and Matt Lanter. The series is the first in a whole Millarworld deal with Netflix.
Other books being commissioned as shows include American Jesus, Empress, Huck and Reborn. Competing with Amazon’s The Boys and Invincible the shows will allow the prolific Scot’s born writer to firmly stamp his mark on the world. The show is based on the 2013 Image Comics book co-wrote and designed by fellow Scot Frank Quietly.
Jupiter’s Legacy: Requiem
For comic book fans of the series, Millar has also confirmed that the series will conclude in June with the 12 issue Requiem. This will follow the four previous books and answer many of the big questions from previous books such as the origin of the mysterious island.
“When I started Jupiter’s Legacy in 2012 I had a very simple plan. I just wanted to write the biggest superhero story of all time,” Millar says in a statement. “It starts in the ’20s and runs through to the present day, but the next volume (book five in the series) moves everything forward one generation as Chloe and Hutch settle down and get married and have a family of their own. The world’s been fixed, the superheroes now working in tandem with the human race to create this perfect society, but people are still people and it doesn’t take long for the family feud to move forward one generation.”
