Kickstarter: Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia
Do you like wrestling? Do you like alien invasions? Then let me introduce you to the fantastic Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia that has recently gone live on Kickstarter. With numerous tie-ins, rewards and fun story, the Kickstarter is definitely worth supporting.
Created by video game writers Matt Entin and Ed Kuehnel from Suspicious Behavior Productions, Wrestletopia, the series follows a washed up wrestling star who declares himself the ‘galactic champion of the universe’. As a result, a race of professional wrestlers declare an intergalactic war against earth. While earth pays the price, Rory Landell has to get his act together before it’s to late.
All six issues were initially released in digital form over three years. Demand for a print edition has led to writers Matt and Ed launching this Kickstarter to do so. If the summary above is not enough to sell you, then let me tell you that this series has something for everyone. Whether you are a wrestling fan or not, Wrestletopia has themes of love, humanity, and redemption that is enough to please any readers. It’s also wickedly fun and absolutely gorgeous to look at.
The Kickstarter offers various incentives . The trade paperback will not only offer all six issues, but will also include exclusive new bonus content. There will also be a special cover by renowned artist Ryan Lang (Issunboshi: A Graphic Novel, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame).
Many other rewards will also add to the Wresletopia lore that has been created. Writers Matt and Ed will be bringing their passion for wrestling and the series in the form of trading cards. These will be a throwback to the ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ era of wrestling and will never be printed again.
