New Predator Movie Wraps

Predator Movie

The upcoming Predator movie from 10 Cloverfield Lane director, Dan Trachtenberg, has apparently wrapped filming if the Instagram account of the sci-fi sequel’s cinematographer is to be believed.

Jeff Cutter announced via his Instagram account that filming was complete on Predator: Skulls. This is apparently the new title of the movie, as it was previously simply titled “Skull.”

Cutter’s Instagram post actually revealed some more details about the upcoming film, which have been pretty sparse up until now. The post even seemingly reveals two additional cast members that have joined the Amber Midthunder-led flick.

“And that’s a wrap on Skulls,” Cutter’s Instagram post reads. “Can’t thank [Dan Trachtenberg] enough for inviting me on this epic journey and entrusting me to help achieve his vision for this film! Thanks to a great cast led by [Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, and Dane DiLiegro], and much love to a brave Calgary crew for diving headfirst in with us!”

At the time of writing, the characters that Beavers and DiLiegro’s are playing in Skulls are not known. That said, Dane DiLiegro has played monsters before in project like American Horror Stories, therefore it would make sense if he was in fact playing the Predator himself in the film.

DiLiegro left a comment on Cutter’s Instagram post that read; “was a pleasure being your sasquatch.” Unless Bigfoot makes a cameo appearance in the flick, I would assumed that he means an alien sasquatch, otherwise known as The Predator.

Although we can work out what DiLiegro’s role in the film may be, Dakota Beavers’ role in the film is totally unknown at the time of writing. With how little detail has been revealed regarding this movie so far, we will likely not find out until the trailer releases.

Back in July of this year, producers John Davis and John Fox revealed that the next Predator movie was going to be a female-fronted origin story tracing the Predator’s first journey back to Earth. It was also back then that the movie was titled, “Skull.”

The last Predator movie released in 2018 and was written and directed by Shane Black. It made $160.5 million at the box office, breaking the record for the biggest intake for any Predator movie ever released. Unfortunately though, the movie was made for a budget of $88 million it is likely that the same was spent again on marketing. This resulted in a loss overall, meaning that a sequel never got the greenlight.
