After months of preparation, Tatsuo Edwards was about to finally escape The Syndicate – a cruel 22nd century crime gang who illegally smuggle people back in time to what they believe are ‘better’ eras. But when a strange woman suddenly appears to steal the same pod as him and blowing his cover, his plan falls apart, leading to a stray Syndicate bullet damaging the pod, sending the pair back to who knows when…

Writers Declan Shalvey and Rory McConville keep the momentum going, in what is another exciting instalment of this Time Travel series. After last month’s fantastic opener, this issue picks up with Tetsuo and the mysterious FBI agent. Shalvey and McConville certainly know how to deliver a storyline which keeps us entertained and I eagerly read through this book to find out what happens next. I was not disappointed. And after the first readthrough, I quickly re-started it again.

As with the last issue, the artwork is fantastic. It may not be colour heavy but the palette is utilised to great effect. The team of Palmer, O’Halloran and Otsmane – Elhaou combine well (as they did in Write it in Blood), and I could touch on their contribution individually. But you don’t want a long convoluted review. Just know that each person has an equal part to play in how well rounded this book is.

After a 5 star review for the first issue, how would the second issue fare? Honestly, I am loving this story. It’s full marks across the board from me again. The storyline is full of intrigue and as I stated in my previous review, the artwork matches it perfectly. And as a result, I am left desperate for the next instalment of this fantastic Time Travel series. If you’ve already picked up the first issue, then make sure you grab this one on release!
