Anthony Mackie Cast In Twisted Metal TV Adaptation

Twisted Metal TV

Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions have cast the series lead for their upcoming Twisted Metal TV show adaption. It was announced last night that Captain America himself, A.K.A. Anthony Mackie, has been cast as John Doe in the adaption of the popular post-apocalyptic racing game.

Asad Qizilbash, the head of PlayStation Productions, is reportedly, “extremely high,” on the future potential that this project has.

“We’re thrilled to have Anthony Mackie on board. His ability to blend comedy, action and drama is perfect for the Twisted world we’re creating,” said Asad with regard to the casting.

“We’ve been big fans of Anthony’s phenomenal body of work over the years and knew he was the only actor who could play a character as complex, funny, and compelling as John Doe. Fortunately for us, he agreed,” added Glenn Adilman, who is the EVP of Comedy Development at Sony TV.

John Doe is a character from the game that the show will feature, however at the time of writing, it is unclear how many similarities the two respective versions of the character will share. That said, we do know that Doe will apparently be a “smart-ass who talks as fast as he drives.”

“John Doe is a milkman with no memory of his past. One day he is offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a better life for himself, but it won’t be easy.”

One can assume that the reason that things won’t be easy for John is because he is having to carry a mysterious package through a deadly post-apocalyptic wasteland. Then, there is also the small matter of the deranged clown called Needles Kane, whom drives an ice-cream van called Sweet Tooth which comes equipped with Napalm Cones, who inhabits said wasteland.

Other details including; what streaming service will air this show, when filming will begin on the show and when we can expect to see it release are all unknown at the time of writing.
