Call Of Duty Warzone Leak: Is the Nuke About To Drop On Verdansk?

Call of duty warzone

Something big is coming to Call Of Duty Warzone according to a recent leak. The leak, – teased on Twitter by user @WarzoneNewz, – states that a mammoth nuclear explosion is due to take place on the 11th of March. March 11th will mark the one year anniversary of the free-to-play battle royale game’s release.

Over the last few months, there have been multiple rumours regarding nuclear missiles that will apparently lead to a colossal event taking place that will alter the entirety of the current map of Verdansk. However, these rumours have recently picked up some steam due to the recent Season 2 update, which has brought with it more in-game hints towards the long-awaited transition.

The Season 2 update also brought with it the Voidanoy shipwreck. The Voidanoy was filled with zombies and the zombies have now escaped containment and are loose on the ship. It is only a matter of time before they break out even further and start to populate more areas of the island. Could this zombie invasion be what leads to the nuking of Verdansk?

The leaker also revealed that there is some text within the upcoming update files that hint at a cancelled extraction of players, a fight for survival, a nuclear explosion and finally an exfiltration of the survivors. The leaker also mentions that although March 11th is the predicted date for the event to take place, this date is not confirmed as of yet.

The leak in question.

It should be kept in mind that none of this information is official as of yet and therefore it should all be taken with a grain of salt. At the time of writing, Activision and Raven so far have thus far declined to comment on any of these leaks.

At the same time though, the developers are undoubtedly going to want to do something memorable to mark the one year anniversary of one of the biggest games of the past year. Warzone is also due a major map update and since the battle royale game was originally made to coincide with Modern Warfare and other than adding in a few guns, Cold War has yet to be properly integrated into Warzone, a big change is definitely expected by many at this point.

Call of Duty Warzone is free-to-play and is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
