New Franchise From 2K Set To Be Revealed This Month

It has been previously reported by multiple sources that Take-Two Interactive‘s subsidiary studios are working on numerous different projects respectively. However, it was revealed earlier today, that 2K, (one of Take-Two’s most prominent subsidiaries,) is developing a brand new franchise and it is set to be unveiled to the public at a later date in August.

This reveal came from Take-Two’s first-quarter earnings report. It was this report that gave confirmation that the new franchise from 2K will be revealed in full sometime later this month. Along with this news, we also learned that the first game in this new franchise is set to drop sometime during “this fiscal year.” In other words, this means that we can expect to see this entry in the new franchise launch at some point between now and March 31, 2022.

The reveal of this new franchise will apparently be one of four “immersive core releases” that are planned for release through Take-Two Interactive’s 2022 fiscal year. The other three of these “immersive core releases,” are NBA 2K22 and WWE 2K22 from 2K, along with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands from Gearbox Software, which was revealed during this year’s Summer Games Fest.

That said, Take-Two Interactive also have a number of other games scheduled for release in this fiscal year. These include; OlliOlli World and ten mobile games. Additionally, six new iterations of prior releases are also scheduled to drop during this time including; GTA V on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, the planned standalone release of GTA Online, Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition, as well as three games additional games that haven’t yet been announced at the time of writing.

Looking forward, beyond the 2022 fiscal year, Take-Two Interactive have even more games in the works from its various subsidiary studios. This includes the next entry in the BioShock franchise from developer Cloud Chamber. There are also a slew of rumours that point towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise being revealed at some point in the next few years.
