Rumour: Will Poulter To Play Adam Warlock
According to a recent rumour, Will Poulter is set to play the MCU’s version of Adam Warlock and will make his first appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This rumour first made its way around the internet on Saturday morning, via a report from The Cosmic Circus. In this report, inside sources claim that there have been, “behind the scenes,” discussions which suggest that Poulter will indeed be playing the fan-favourite character.
Another interesting facet of this rumour is the fact that it has been 3 days since the rumour broke at the time of writing, yet James Gunn has yet to come out and deny the claims. He has been known to do this previously with various other internet rumours regarding the Guardians movies. Cosmic Circus is careful to point out that they do not have enough information currently to say for certain that this rumour is definitively true, that said they do also note that all signs do point to the claim being an accurate one.
Something else that is relevant is that Will Poulter did drop out of the upcoming Lord of the Rings television series from Amazon Prime due to scheduling conflicts. Could those scheduling conflicts in question be because Poulter is set to join the MCU? Filming for that LOTR series took place in early 2020, so if it was indeed because of the rumoured Adam Warlock casting, then this decision was made quite some time ago.
At the time of writing, we are all still very much in the dark In terms of what Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 could look like. We pretty much know nothing regarding the plot of the movie besides the fact that it has apparently left some of its cast members in a “flood of tears.”
Karen Gillan spoke to Yahoo! Movies earlier this fall saying that, “We read it in the same room together and then looked at each other, and we were in floods of tears. It is so emotional. You’re learning more about existing characters and on a deeper level. I’m really excited at exploring Nebula, post-Thanos.
Although we don’t know too much about what Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will entail, we do have a release date. We can expect to see the third entry in the Marvel space-hopping series on the 5th of May 2023. We are yet to receive a release date for the two upcoming spinoffs of the Guardians series; I Am Groot and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
