Kojima Productions next project could be announced soon

In a recent interview with Yoji Shinkawa, it was revealed that the next major project from Kojima Productions may be announced imminently. The news came from an interview that Shinkawa, (the art director at Kojima Productions,) did with AlHub, which was later translated from Japanese into English by Aki Saito.

In the interview, Shinkawa spoke with host Mutlaq Aljraid about various things topics including his storied and varied career. However, the most exciting takeaway from the interview was the tease that the next major project from mastermind auteur Hideo Kojima, could be gearing up to be unveiled before too long.

Towards the end of the chat, Shinkawa was asked if he would be able to possibly reveal any details on the next project he has in the pipeline. He replied: “Well yeah, I am doing something, for sure, and I can tell you probably that […] we can announce it quite soon.”

We first got a hint towards Kojima Productions next project back in October last year when it was confirmed that production had begun on their wildly anticipated next game. However, there were absolutely no details revealed in terms of what that project would entail and no further details have been provided since.

However, according to Shinkawa’s comments from the above interview, that could hopefully change before too long.

Death Stranding was Kojima Productions previous project and was the first game headed up by Kojima since he left former publishing company, Konami. It received mixed to positive reviews and although I enjoyed it, I did think that there was room for improvement.

Kojima is of course best known for being the mastermind behind the iconic Metal Gear Solid franchise. There have been some recent rumours of a remake of the first MGS game from Bluepoint Games, though nothing has been announced officially regarding this at the time of writing.
